Is the Display of a Hate Symbol Protected Under the First Amendment? Part One of Two

March 21, 2017

Our Meetup group held two “ripped from the headlines” topic discussions about issues surrounding an event that took place on a Florida university campus early this year. That event consisted of one person, who wore an armband displaying a swastika symbol and stood in an open square at the university, and the crowd that gathered around him.

Attorneys W. Craig Lawson and Victoria Vilchez joined Part One of the discussion to help provide a broad overview of how the First Amendment was implicated. We recorded the conference so that you can listen at your convenience.
