No Legal Advice. LawYou is not a law firm and LawYou’s owner, Sherri Renner, JD, is not a practicing attorney. LawYou’s published materials and services are not and cannot be substitutes for the advice or services of a law firm or attorney licensed to practice law in your jurisdiction.
Instead, LawYou is a self-help service offering general legal information and supportive assistance to people who do not have formal legal training or education. It is your sole responsibility to carefully (1) review the offered information, (2) select which is suitable for your use, and (3) modify or customize that information for use in your unique and individualized situation.
Therefore, (1) no attorney-client relationship is formed between you and LawYou or Sherri Renner, (2) no duty of confidentiality or privilege arises between you and LawYou or Sherri Renner, and (3) neither LawYou nor Sherri Renner bears any liability for any harms that come to you as a result of your use of LawYou.
No Guarantee or Warranty. LawYou makes no guarantee or warranty, express or implied, about the quality, precision, or reliability of the information contained in the materials published or in the substance of the discussions in the web/tele conferences, groups, or coaching sessions.
LawYou is not liable for any damages relating to your reliance on such information. It is your responsibility to assess the suitability of the information, select and adjust the information for your unique situation and your jurisdiction, and to take precautions before using the information.
No Governance Rights. Membership in the Association for Pro Se Advancement at LawYou America does not confer on members any rights to governance of the Company. Membership confers a revocable license to use materials, participate in members-only services, and enjoy discounts and other enumerated benefits, but does not confer a right to vote or share in any profits.
Groups. Groups are reserved for paid members and are not open or visible to the general public. Groups are moderated, but moderator comments and activities in the groups do not constitute legal advice.
Protecting Your Identity. For your safety, and to deter and ameliorate any effects of cyberstalking by opposing parties, we do not publish your profile for other users or nonmembers to see. The only part of your profile that is visible to others is your nickname.
Therefore, you are required to create a nickname that does not in any way identify you. That means you should refrain from using your initials, any important dates, children’s names, pets’ names, references to locations, etc., in your nickname.
We want to protect you, and we need to protect LawYou from abuse by malicious people and entities so that we can continue to offer our services.
Your Membership Account. Your login may only be used by you. You are not permitted to share your login with others. The low membership fee will not be sustainable otherwise.
To comply with United States law, you must be age thirteen or older to use LawYou. LawYou does not market to children, and we do not permit users under the age of thirteen.
You must keep your account and login credentials secure. You must notify LawYou promptly if you become aware of any unauthorized use of, or access to, our service through your account, including any unauthorized use of your password or account.
You are responsible for all content you post and all activity that occurs under your account.
You are responsible for making sure that your use of our website and services does not violate any applicable laws, including copyright or trademark laws.
You agree that you will not under any circumstances upload, post, or transmit any content that: (1) is unlawful or promotes unlawful activities; (2) is or contains sexually obscene content; (3) is defamatory or fraudulent; (4) is discriminatory or abusive toward any individual or group; (5) contains or installs any active malware or exploits, or uses our platform for exploit delivery; or (6) infringes on any proprietary right of any person or legal business entity, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other rights.
While using LawYou, you agree that you will not: (1) harass, abuse, threaten, or incite violence towards any individual or group; (2) use our servers for any form of automated bulk activity (for example, spamming), or relay any other form of unsolicited advertising or solicitation through our servers; (4) attempt to disrupt or tamper with our site or services in ways that could cause harm, or to access LawYou’s service in ways that exceed your authorization; (5) impersonate any person or entity, including through false association with LawYou, or misrepresent your identity to LawYou; or (6) violate the privacy of any third party, such as by posting another person’s personal information without consent.
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of LawYou’s website, published materials, or services without LawYou’s express written permission.
Termination of Your Membership. LawYou has the right to suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the website at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately.
LawYou reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
All provisions of these terms which by their nature should survive termination will survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
Revisions. Because LawYou has always been a dynamic service, responsive to the needs of the people it serves, we expect that these terms, along with our other policies and the services offered, will change.
